Scratch Pads, instead of Posts

Some cats prefer to scratch/claw a textured surface that is on the ground. Try purchasing a ´fire log´ with the bark intact, and place it near one of Kitty´s favorite scratching places. The log must be stablized, so that it won´t move when Kitty scratches it. You could put it up against the wall, or even mount it to a board.
