April 13, 2001, Newsletter Issue #33: More Parasite Battle Preparations

Tip of the Week

The common parasites are things we all know about, but there are other health threats that can be missed.

You should also be aware of any poisonous plants in your area such as poison ivy & poison oak that can cause skin problems. Your vet or local Agriculture Extension Agent can tell you what is in your area and what the symptoms are of accidental contact or ingestion.

Just because your cat stays indoors, doesn`t mean he is 100% safe from parasites. For those of you who have leave screen doors open, you too, should be concerned with Parasite Prevention. If you leave screen doors open, the Parasites can get in through the screen. Fleas, ticks, mosquitoes are the most common trespassers through screen doors.

Although I presented this link last week, I send it along again this week since the Indoor Kitties may not have thought they needed to see the information. This is the link to the Kitty Parasite Index page.
