After you have removed a tick from your kitty (or you!), be certain to destroy the tick. You can drop it into rubbing alcohol, or grind it into the ground so that there is more ´fluid´ than recognizable insect remaining. Ticks can survive water, so flushing them down the toilet or running them down the drain of the sink won´t kill them.
