All of my experience and my vets' instructions validate the idea that Ash Content in your cat's food can lead to urinary infection, or irritate it. Although I have read in recent studies that this is not the case, the source of the articles was a pet food company. I still keep the ash content in my pet's food at 3.2% or lower, and I don't have any troubles.
