March 5, 2010, Newsletter Issue #309: Ridding the house of fleas, and other insects

Tip of the Week

For those who are wary of pesticides in the house, there are other natural ways of eliminating most pesky insects. Most of the herbs in the Mint Family are natural insect repellents. Peppermint, Spearmint, Wintergreen, and Pennyroyal are just a few. Mix a few drops of concentrated mint oil in a spray bottle full of water and spray a light mist over your carpets and in the petīs bed. Let it dry, then vacuum. Spray couple times a day, and vacuum several times a week until your problem is solved. It took me about three weeks to clear my problem due to the life cycle of fleas.
